and then our exile

I have finally, finally figured out a good way to use this "thing": I've always been uncomfortable with using poemranker, simply because I know best what I write, and to need others to tell me of such goes against the grain when it is unnecessary. Too, i only joined in the first place because I give some people great influence over me and so do what they do, to some extent. I also liked the free webspace if I ever wanted to point people in that direction, and also the blue background...here, though, I have free webspace as well, and also another blue template. So I exodus from that site, and head over here.

I can post, then, with a clearer conscience and clarity of purpose. Someone has termed this "thing" a "blog", ostensibly "for the sake of alliteration". This Must Not Continue. The exigencies of this so-called 'alliteration' are not as pressing as this Someone believes them to be. I must say this now: i do not, and have never had a "blog". Refer to this site as a "glob", a "thing", or "enotations", if you must, but calling it a "blog" risks Wrath.

In exchange for the free space on here, Blogger [which was bought by Google a while ago] has two ads at the top of the page. What I believe they do is an automatic scan of the text on the page, and set up "related" search hits in the ads. This morning, I find/am told, one on here was for cassette tapes which "teach you how to speak Saudi Arabic", and, secondly, a site for sending signatures to Tony Blair thanking him for invading Iraq. ^_^ Oh dear.

To counteract the "related search hits", here:
*ANTI-BLAIR* ANTI-PHYSICS ANTI-BUSH-WHO-WAS-NOT-ELECTED ANTI-WAR ANTI-IMPERIALISM ANTI-TRANSNATIONAL ANTI-EXHAUST ANTI-CAPITALIST ANTI-CONCRETE ANTI-OPPRESSION ANTI-SUPPRESSION ANTI-REPRESSION (ANTI-PACIFISM) THE PEOPLE UNITED WILL NEVER BE DEFEATED "ISLAM TEACHES US TO BE GOOD CITIZENS, BE GOOD TO OUR NEIGHBOUR, AND BE COURTEOUS---BUT THE INSTANT SOMEONE LAYS A HAND ON YOU, SEND HIM TO THE CEMETARY" AL-QUR'AN WA'S-SUNNAH (THOUGH ANTI-SECTARIANISM) TREES BIRDS DEER AND BUTTERFLIES POETRY ALLENDE AND MANDELSTAM SUTCLIFF AND TS ELIOT ALL THE WAY; -----BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY!.

If the above does not work, all i can say is that i do not control advertisements.

The Someone above has taken some of my subject matter for own use. At the moment, though, the "my" in "my subject matter" is arrogantish, and so I shall not press charges.
On same topic: of recent, a partial victory on topic of nationalism. Ha!

As I sat here this morning, exploring old sites I used to visit many many months ago [the golbolution comes!], Usman woke up and I see the door pulled open and a little Usman come crawling out making baby noises. It is impossible not to love him. During Zohr today I was in sujood and he was lying right next to me, and wrapped a moist hand around one of my fingers. Allah!

Br. Emad sent me a message this morning, as I reminded myself I was about to. Says he wants to spend Ramadan in Makkah / Madinah. ^_^ Make du'a he can do this, everyone... I too have memories of the two beloved cities which make me weep. Or would, were I not the satiate I am. yaa Rabb!
I both fear and look forward to (with a great looking forward) i'tikaaf this year.

I'm right now listening to the collection sent me by Muntaka which begins with the track "...jannibna min al-shaitan; qarribna ila 'r-rahman...". Good.

The day which was today transcends language. I've used the word "glorious" for days so often it's nearly lost its meaning--i meant it, too, each time I used it. But today..was a Gift; that's all I can say. the Brilliance of sunlight on autumn leaves and beautiful birds singing in the maydays and four deer visiting during Zohr and all the beautiful colours!
Nothing more to can say.

Tomorrow, Babaji gives a talk at the Markaz: Reflections before Ramadan. Invitation only, that only those who are focused come, so email me.

Also tomorrow, before the talk, there's a rally planned for Palestine. Usman's first. Although I was somewhat hesitent previously about turnout and etc, *everyone* I've talked to about it say they're coming [with the noticable exception of Umar---boo to him--whose claims stem from U midterms, so boo to them as well---and two others]. So: I don't care what Kevan says, we NEED TO PLAN A MARCH EVEN IF IT DOESN'T HAPPEN.

Now, to email KH and discover whether Z is busy tomorrow...
Wasalam.
