Mosque/tomb of [Khalid bin Walid^ra] (584-642), the "Sword of God". A superb military general, they say he was never defeated, while he himself won battle after battle against the Byzantine and Persian empires. He was responsible for turning the tide of the battle of Ohud against the Muslims, but after the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah accepted Islam and was of the most genius of Muslim commanders. During the caliphate of Abu Bakr, he put down the rebellion led by Musaylma the Imposter, and later took Iraq and Syria. He died in his bed. His last words were "I die even as a camel dies. I die in bed, in shame. May the eyes of cowards never find rest in sleep!"
