and then our exile

Thursday, December 08, 2005 at 10:50 p.m.

drained, i am fighting the urge to drop everything and become a street-poet in beirut. cop-out is such a familiar term, now.

an empty thermos stands on a desk i cannot see the surface of anymore - weeks of piled papers, opened books. chaos theory in action - a stack of folded laundry scattered across jai-namaz, rumpled blankets, red and white shamagh and an empty cup. a speeding ticket, some painted rocks, blue headphones, notes from a wyatt sonnet and latin american independence movements. scrambled readings from nozickian political philosophy, a rolled newspaper, a work of shafi'i fiqh, a stack of paperbacks (a greek drama, jane eyre, sol mandlsohn). dust-bound scripture, guilty thumb-prints.

december 10th is the third white band day. wear the white band in display of ineffectual solidarity, to make poverty history. all the cool people are.

sometime before april i need to decide between option a (combination of one, two), option b, or...both.

i'll...post again in two weeks. fight the good fight, everyone. my good solution to the few hundred pages i must read over a few days? i will now go outside for a walk.

Your country isn't all bad!

m - it gets stronger the more work one has piled up around, i've noticed.

e - ha!
i tell you, we take our pancakes seriously.
and now you know why i complained about not having a nonstick pan.

Queen's, huh. I'm trying to figure out how to respond. (Not that a response is necessary, but the self-flattery is necessary. Of course.)

not queen's necessarily - am mainly considering the u of c. it's closest, so can come home for harvest & spring planting.

except i like the u of a, don't want to leave, familie, etc.
and i don't like calgary.

Well in any case, Queen's doesn't accept any transfers. You'd have to redo first year.

ouch. but no, queen's just had the nice national list of programs.
things you write about queen's aren't very friendly.

the more i think of it though the less i want to. i just /got/ back. etc.
