and then our exile

i will not cast
this prose
in all the forms of simile.
the opaque edge to division
would mask norms of pretence:
a clear field, then, awaiting dawn;
the glistening dew on vibrant
truescapes of epic and revelatory song;
departing strands of night
dissolving all dualism
through great incumbent libations.
its purple murk given way
to the necessity of warmth
and the moment of single birth.
for beauty so carefully wrought,
_____and the blossoms of paradise
for the cavalcades of solace,
_____and mutual benefaction:
strung between pinpoints of mortality
gathered for defiance in conjugance,
as your singlemost flame
blazes in unending sky.
it has leapt from the obsidian cliffs
far into the deafening mists;
it has flown with the sun-motes
surrounding this earthly bower.
touched by mystic weft
and the soaring through radiant ether
Divine sanction here through deed
has swept bereft mischance.
mute, now, all, before this witnessing
for this gift granted an honour silencing

our agency has left common knowledge
of your two compounded hearts
and spread of hanging months, but here only rise

and rejoice, now, in one another's eyes.

- feb18.06, for fm & se.

there is hope. if there is anything tonight taught me, again and again, it is this simple fact - if there can, despite everything, melting permafrost and the ugliness of concrete and the hundreds dying of starvation and the species going extinct day by day, if there can despite these still flare up these blazing moments of unadulterated joy spurred by honest love, and these glimmerings can remain, induced, and if we can hold onto them for the rest of our lives - there is hope.

they entered though loud arab music, clapping hands, trilling women, and hours later are husband and wife. a strange thought and yet natural, after these many months. beautiful people, each, and now are united forever - Divine grace, wonderment, such extreme and overpowering felicity, beauty.

and so here: again, "the real world". left a cup of cold coffee, a pile of accusing sheets of paper, some lingering thought of beauty. outside the moon is blue on snow meadowscapes.

the following are via taqa. if anyone has a picture of when z and i carried rooq to the end of the hall, please send?
