was up far too late last night. four hours of sleep, squeezed in fajr. so, here:

- al-qalam booksale at the markaz today. new in stock: khalid baig's translation of maulana ashraf ali thanvi's munajaat-e maqbul ("the accepted whispers"). i don't know markaz politics very well but assume there is a preponderence of deobandis? though the content of the book should speak for itself, it is beautiful, everyone should memorize it.
- javed's latest post deserves a read.
- i feel sorry for cleanthes. and support swinburne. and, well, put things off too long.
- are the olympics over already or are they still going on? how long do they usually go for? i heard we won some medals, and did remember to cheer, but that was a few days ago - the world is vague about these things.
- i haven't left wuddistan since saturday. ha! take that, evil evil system!
