and then our exile

The oldest hath borne most; we that are young
Shall never see so much, nor live so long.

I feel old. And tired. And most definately a man more sinning than sinned against. And slightly anxious as per the beginning of Ramadan, tomorrow. And am full of orange juice and ice cream. There's a faint breeze outside, but for some reason it's not cold. ...Still late-August, I'd say. And the night is much darker than any of late. Stars extant, but not immediate on the scene.

Anti-occupation demo today. Our estimate=204. Rob B=148+four-footed-creatures. In Washington=100,000! I must remember to ask Thomas if anything was up in Britain. But: I saved Lara from an impending catastrophe involving the t-word. You know the one. T*rr*r**t. Were she to have used it, the very foundations of the mansions of glory would have been horribly shaken...but no. It has been averted, and so I'd like to ask you all to join me in a collective sigh of relief. On the count of three.
One.
Two.
Three.
...
Thank you.
Now. All I may say at this point is that behind every brilliant MC there is an editor. And all was good, though my white armor began to grow a little rusty. On the whole, I believe I was quite pleased with the MUPMCs. Though I also began to grow resentful at all those who wear elegant kid gloves to *rallies*. [Soirees, sleigh rides, balls, and other events making up the world of Tolstoy's Natasha Rostov, I can understand, and salute. But *marches*? While the rest of us freeze. Grackle.] I myself was a drummer. One really cool red plastic pail + 2-inch-dowel=me. Except Noor wanted to switch with me after a bit and so I took the sign. THE US MUST PAY BLOOD FOR OIL.
At Corbett Hall a number of decent speakers. We chased away the A-Channel-people-who'd-crossed-the-picket-line. Murtada, Farooq and Muntaka showed up halfway through, so that was good. We stood around with Usama and Tim-Issa. And his baby. And I saw Kasim from across the crowd on his bike. Counted afterwards: only 25 or so Muslims.
Point was made: all protest days are always, always grey. Why is that? ^_^

Announcement: the fundraiser for the new Youth Centre---75,000$ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I shall try to explain something of Ramadan tomorrow or so, iA. Usman practises walking. When out in the world, he looks too much like a bundled-up docile. But to us, at home... Beyond heart. His sign: SINCE I WAS BORN THE US HAS INVADED MORE COUNTRIES THAN I CAN COUNT.

If you've never lain beside a sleeping baby and listened to him breathe, you are indeed bereaved of something True.
