Anyhow: my news of today is that Daniel Pipes, a crazed rightwing islamophobic fanatic out of Christian Zion, has tried to blacklist my father.
I think two years ago some Zionist group in New York claimed he was part of the Kashmiri Resistance. i wouldn't care, except that, as with Manji, people read Pipes' stuff. Of course, most of those who read it are crazed rightwing islamophobic fanatics out of Christian Zion, but still.
As per that, though, know that my father's 1) not a member of Jamaat-i-Islami--the JI just took an article of his published in The News (Pakistan's largest English daily) criticizing General Musharraf and posted it on their website; they sourced it, but it seems as though Pipes didn't read that part [the source]; and 2) he didn't write the article about Jews that is Pipes' fourth point. As in, he just didn't write it--either someone stole his name, or there are two Muzaffar Iqbal's in the world: which is very possible. After all, i have enough parallels in my life between me and people who *aren't* named after me (as in, many), so...

Also on Daniel Pipes: he has also gone after Mustafa Abu Sway, the Palestinian professor who was our friend in Jerusalem. Abu Sway himself has refuted Pipes' claims in the smear campaign at various times.

also, i came very close to having an argument with Brendan C of my HSMUN team today, on the "validity" of awarding things to Canadian soldiers for really "putting their lives on the line" in Afghanistan. What makes me sick is how people who were "against" the invasion of Iraq support "involvement" in Afghanistan. Can they not see the hypocrisy of that?
