and then our exile

7PM TONIGHT AT THE BUTTERDOME: NOT IN OUR NAME
PROTEST CELLUCCI AND THE RAPE OF AFGHANISTAN
PROTEST THE US AND GLOBAL HEGEMONY
PROTEST EVERYTHING YOU WANT TO PROTEST
PARTY WITH THE US AMBASSADOR
I was just telling people that I'd be taking the bus at such-and-such time, when father-mine expressed interest in coming. I think it's the allure of Cellucci--he hasn't come to protests before, except maybe once, though he works for the Movement in other ways. And suddenly, Noor wants to come too. ^_^ Is a potentially-confrontational protest the place for a little sister who is all of 13 years old?
According to her, yes. I'm not so sure about that.
And so, we leave at 6:10. ECAWAR's protest is "outside" the building at 7, and the party starts at 8; we (Babaji and I and unless-i-can-dissuade-my-sister-from-coming and whoever else wants to) are going inside for the actual event, and plan to be there whether or not ECAWARians join us. Boo to them all--as Lara said, "confrontational is not good, but neither is invisible." How obvious is that? Very obvious, that's what. but i thought that was a good quote.
Most people I know cannot come because of finals; 'tis pretty much summed-up in Umar Shuaib: "I won’t be able to make it, unfortunately, but I’ll make du'a [ie, pray] that you can do whatever it is you plan on doing with double the efficiency on my behalf."
