Really. So Syrian musabbah is so much better than Lebanese musabbahah.

prayed 'asr at muhyiddin, as i do thrice a week after class near there, and afterwards an older man came up to me (again)(again). ma biddu yaseer, laysh ma khaffifta sha'rak, hayk mithlan anisaat, shoof al-jaami' kulluh, fi 'aalim yutawwil sha'rah? ma fi.
= the response i did not think of: if i am going to be doing things like the majority of syrian 'ulema, i should shave my beard and wear a tie. which i'm not doing.
z: this burghul would be mm mmm with laban and khubz.
me: i know a place that would be open even though it's late. but it's kind of far away. we'll have to stick to the laban of the heart.

me: dal.
k: oh? tell me, is there a food named after the letter raa' as well? do tell me when you get to qaf. you came here to study arabic, and you ended up eating it instead.

arabs eat dal? i didn't know.
also, i used to spell it dahl, and used to wonder why the author was named after brown food. i put it down to colonialism. even though he was norwegian.

i think the norwegians were colonized by the norwegians.

forgot definitions:
musabbahah - like homus only with with tahini and other things. it's quite nice.
'asr - afternoon prayer.
muhyiddin - mosque. named after muhyiddin ibn 'arabi, famous sufi buried there. shaikh al-akbar, they call him. the great shaikh.
ma biddu yaseer...ma fi - basically, the man is pretending to be jawad and "cut your hair". except he was serious, while jawad is just...jawad. his second reasoning is easier to deal with, though, because i am supposed to check out the mosque and do i see any scholar with longer hair, no i do not, hence what do i think i am doing.
burghul - there's a word for this in englisch--i think it is cracked wheat? something like this. so:
1-soak burghul in water.
2-boil tomato paste, tomatoes, bell peppers (diced.) (in water).
3-add burghul and water.
4-eat with laban and khubz.
laban and khubz - yoghurt and bread.
dal - daal. lentils. beans. all this nomenclature.
1-dal + water
2-add salt and pepper.
3-add tomatoes, bell peppers, potatoes.
4-add more salt and pepper.
5-eat with rice and laban.
