it says "So the inheritors of the Masters of the Sufi orders, especially the Naqshbandi Sufi Order, inherited the initiation in every century."
--why are the naqshbandis specificallized? representin', there.

something interesting i read a few weeks ago, and j said at a restaurant a few days ago: that one can reach wilayah (muntaqa's "Sainthood") without necessarily being part of formal tasawwuf, but this ain't true of ma'rifah, for which one would need the murshid kamil (perfect Master) as a guide.

we'll talk about this when i come back. iA.

naqshabandis are everywhere akhi! we even have some here in deadmonton--although i don’t associate with them (for reasons).

but na'am. we talk about this when you come back iA.
you should read more of sidi ahmed zarruq's writings...because he was (they say) shadhili...but he have some interesting things to say in his "qawaaid" (see if you can get your hands on it--it very, very good mashAllah). and plus. he north african, and you know how i love me my north africans! :D
