last year i [quoted eliot]. how little things change over a year, last july already. i'd use that same again, but another object and another age.
as aside, is YC [phillistinery] worth it?

i don't know about the youth council, but i'd say that this (http://www.edmonton.ca/portal/server.pt/gateway/PTARGS_0_2_267_211_0_43/http%3B/CMSServer/COEWeb/community+and+people+services/people+services/youth/hiphopclasses.htm) is more than worth it.

One should not ask whether YC philistinery is worth one's time, one should ask whether one is worth YC philistinery's time.
Lol, I kid :D/
Seriously though, as it stands right now, if you came and sat in on a YC meeting, you would bludgeon us all to bloody death in frustration.
But things will change soon. Soon indeed. The new dawn awaits! The youth of Edmonton WILL be heard! The city will soon turn its interest to the most popular cause to be committed to, the youth.

taqaji - so you say i should wait till next year.
and this opinion coming from the brightest new tv star and YC chair is too supposed to carry some weight. :@

The voice of Edmonton's youth shall be heard? Should this not be rephrased: the voice of Edmonton's well-educated middle-class youth will be heard, perhaps? In looking at the website the member writeups in particular I was struck by a sameyness and the sheer amount of people from OSA (Old Scona Academic [it is not you see a high school it is an academic...]{remove this part it is overly sarcastic...Ed.}) Are there any street-kids in your self-proclaimed big tent group? How many High School drop-outs? What about people who actually took benefit of the gracious invitation to include people with criminal records? What is it your group even does? The content on the website is...vague. From what I gather CEYC has two things that suggest perhaps it is not the best place to go if you wish to affect change. Firstly: despite claims of being open to all a limited demographical representation. Secondly: a lack of SMART(Specific Measurable Attainable Relevant Timely) goals...ah yes I know stupid leadership program terminology but honestly people it get things done and "Effects change through positive actions and contributions to the community " doesnt quite cut it... Yes this was full of piss and vinegar someone step up and prove me wrong

oh and...the US...there was something to do with overtaxation and now like the dog that runs hurriedly for his food ball at feeding time they have overshot and momentum is keeping them flying as they scrabble and struggle to turn their huge mass around and return to the food bowl...or perhaps I am mistaken and they have not yet realised that they've passed the bowl...
