and then our exile

Sunday, September 25, 2005 at 5:58 p.m.

today is sunday. after maghrib hundreds of people will gather for the public bukhari class. the sahih bukhari is one of the definitive works of islamic tradition, a meticulously collected and authoritative text of the words and actions of Muhammad^s. shaikh na'eem al-'araqsusi teaches the class, after maghrib he sits by the pulpit and speaks for over an hour, giving commentary and insights into the texts of the ahadith (traditions) and relating anecdotes from the lives of the narrators of the text.

secrets once commented, he said there's still hope for the ummah (muslim polity) if students of sacred knowledge can still block traffic as they leave their classes.

the picture does not show how many people actually come.
