and then our exile

one of the things i most dislike about this new lifestyle of never catching up is that i have started measuring things by their utility (and i don't mean pleasure-potential). so time is divided into 'work', which would really be very interesting if i did not /have/ to do it in a crazily short timespan, and 'unwinding', which is vacant-time, when nothing happens.

the last time i went for a walk outside was something like six weeks ago.

even when i force myself to go running it isn't under the sky, it is on an indoor track where half the track is dominated by the soundsystemspeakers the aerobics class next door.

god, i hate the way modernity warps lives.

usman's still here and happy, though, so i guess that is good. and it's snowing again.
