and then our exile

Sunday, April 23, 2006 at 8:26 p.m.

in saskatoon last week, i had just told cousins my spy story. "so now you can feel important, that you know me." "we do feel important now."

then explaining to uncle h my perennial spring concern: "what we need to do now, at this time of year, is kill as many mosquitoes as we can. right now they aren't biting yet, but in a few weeks they will be vicious, so the more we get now the fewer we have to deal with later." "i...don't know how statistically promising that is." "i know, but in this dark world we need to cling to whatever glimmerings of hope we can find." "that's pretty slim hope."

belal - wa 'alaykumussalam\\ we should raise spiders, then? because they do not seem to be getting enough.

fathima - yes, well, but maybe you do not understand. the mosquitoes here are insane and grow to be huge, and then latch on to you to suck out the blood from your body. and there are swarms of them, and there has been so much winter runoff this year it is still sitting in some ditches? so there will be even more than usual.
