and then our exile

tom waits and van morrison are a heady mix.

just because you have a pretty face and blonde hair does not mean you have the right to make a gazillion overlong calls on the courtesy phone in SUB without even apologizing or acknowledging the presence of the line.

exams done, marks are trickling in, and am thrown open into the sky. when b. asked what i would do my new-found freedom, i said i would first sleep and then make tea to drink outside. instead, ice cream at block 1912 with various people, "all's fair in love and 'umrah," then lying on grass watching blue sky and listening to usman tell stories. the moment i returned home i lost the car keys by putting them on the key-hook. i have also managed to annoy my sister through renditions of bob dylan, and am building a bookcase for my room. ominous portents/ for an interesting summer.

this just makes me wonder. "On Tuesday, they had requested a dictionary. The judge denied the request, saying it was tantamount to introducing additional evidence. On Friday, she orally instructed them that "aggravating" meant to make something worse."

we had just finished making du'a after 'isha' two days ago - raised our heads, and, there, at that split moment, an arc of streaming light, pinpoint through the starry night sky, a meteor plunged, slow and wide, silent, and dissolved into the dark.
