and then our exile

Wednesday, November 23, 2005 at 3:24 a.m.

about twenty minutes ago i heard bare feet stomping down a flight of stairs and then run towards me across the tile floor. uthman did not say a word but climbed into my lap, nestled his head against my shoulder, and promptly fell asleep again.

i can't type with one hand, so now he is on the carpet next to the desk, twitching a little in his sleep, and soon i am going to make some coffee. school tomorrow will be fun. but essay is finally progressing.
