- andre malraux, anti-memoirs
three commit suicide at guantanamo. deeply disturbing - suicide, on all accounts, an illegitimate act (i'm talking about the streams of islam, not theoretical defiance of camus or sartrean solipsism) - these people driven to such an extreme, to go against all they supposedly fought for (assuming they fought at all). and what is further, disgusting : "Rear Adm Harris said he did not believe the men had killed themselves out of despair ... 'They have no regard for life, either ours or their own. I believe this was not an act of desperation, but an act of asymmetrical warfare waged against us.'" : and excuse the french, where in the flipping flip does this ugly perverted faeces spew from? rear-admiral harris is in the process of explaining that individuals are going to take their own lives, hang themselves on bed-sheets, in the middle of a barren prison, as an act of war.
more: give back his poetry and yasmine's post from a while back. "road to guantanamo" movie arrives in edmonton june30th.
