and then our exile

Ha: today, I got a message from somebody at StatsCan, explaining very nicely what amounted to a load of garbage.
"Under the North American Free Trade Agreement and World Trade Organization Agreement regulations that governed this procurement, non-Canadian based firms were eligible to submit a bid. All of the bidders were Canadian firms, although several were US owned."
----if a firm is Canadian, how is it US owned?
but no. I don't mean to be querulous. It's just that some people do not seem to understand that others do not want Lockheed Martin, which builds missiles, bombs, armaments and weaponry to kill human beings, messing around with the Canadian census. I don't agree with NAFTA in the first place, so there's not really much opportunity for dialogue.
It was of nice to actually get a reply, though. Even if it wasn't personal or anything. Kind of like Lyle Oberg to Zachariya: "but the UofA has a GREAT student loans program! and i am going to totally ignore anything you said about deregulating tuition fees! yesyes!" Afterwards, I spoke to a member of GONOT [guild o' nearly ordained tories] who said something about helping to draft those standard letters. Complicity.
But, to send a fax to StatsCan and to learn more about Lockheed Martin in Canada, click here. And, kind of on the same topic, to send a fax to the Establishment telling them you're totally against NMD, click here.
