and then our exile

Sunday, September 17, 2006 at 10:59 a.m.

these now are days with grey clouds hanging low, holsteins grazing on hillsides. the maple trees are turning yellow and falling to blanket the earth, the shedding limbs bare as the great dreams we once held close to us. wind is cold, and autumn is sweeping over the earth. as i turned onto our driveway a few days ago a red fox bounded across the road, disappeared into the corn stalks on the other side.

this has been a long time coming.

wuddistan.blogspot's been going for years, now, with occasional breaks.

looking at archives i realize some posts were less accessible than they may have seemed to me - the layered meanings of this start with joni and cycle through whitall perry and muzaffar iqbal and bob marley and ani difranco, continue to abu 'abdur rahman and andrew gow and lloyd alexander, MSA election speeches and feminist thought and a discussion held with tahseen years ago. that only with this background it was readable. or, for another example, this hat-tips faulkner and charles wright. inside nods which it was impossible to clear.

i have said farewell before.

but it is time.

biqbal.wordpress.com : meet the new prend. muntaka read the first post and turned to me "is there anything you want to talk about?" which made me laugh no, it is not like that.

("i'll meet you on the other side")

the phoenix turns to flame...

May Allah be with you in this time of farewell.
